Maldición

These are all puros Chingones y Chingonas, Artist/ Designers and craftspeople, most of which we have met while on our journey as an independent brand or have had a good experience with their artwork (with a few exceptions). Most of them are from California (specifically Sacramento and the Bay), but most importantly they are doing social conscious work that helps inspire, empower and educate our comunidad. I hope this list helps you find a special gift for that perfect someone… (or yourself, we won’t judge). ¡Felices Fiestas! And Support Local Independent Creatives.

P.S. Feel free to add any Creatives/Artist/Designers and craftspeople in the comment box that you know. I am sure there are a lot of others out there doing great things.

WELCOME TO MALDICIÓN

First of all I’d like to welcome you to the Maldición site. (¡Ay güey, hasta que!) It’s been a long time coming and when I say a long time, I mean a looooong time. But before we get into that I’d like the thank everyone who’s helped in the development of the brand and the brand website.

Thank you Virgilio for helping put this site together, sorry for the back and forths with all those little changes. Thank you to Felix for looking over the Maldición literature and giving me another maceta to bounce things off of way before Maldición was Maldición. Thanks to all the models, Ricardo, Chelly, “The Twins” Lynette and Devin, Rey, EJ, Jonathan and Javi… and Karina for not only being a model but the “Model Recruiter,” (so if you have a complaint or feel like we are not taking advantage of your talents “cough cough EJ” you know who’s tires to lash.)

I want to thank everyone that made it out to La Raza Galería Posada’s 2012 Día de Los Muertos 3rd Annual Panteon de Sacramento. Especially everyone that helped us set up. Mike, Brenda and Ivan, your muscles and passion made all the difference. Julio, Karina and Reyna, thank you for helping us with the booth. A mis queridos padres for letting me borrow some of the decorative material that helped make our booth look good, gracias. Y Olga’s mom Nena for helping make the flores de papel, gracias. All our friends and family that came out to support and everyone we met there that showed interest in what we are doing. This was the first time we’d put the brand out there and to talk to complete strangers from all walks of life and see their interest and (mostly) positive reactions to what we’re trying to do was incredibly inspiring and motivating. ¡GRACIAS! Neta gracias!

I also want to thank all our friends and family who have supported us in this, our new journey in life. Everyone who’s already purchased a t-shirt and everyone who’s given me words of encouragement. It is your words of encouragement that continue to fuel my drive. Everyone who’s taken the time to talk to others about Maldición without me even asking you to… Gracias.

I also want to thank everyone who doesn’t believe I can do this. Everyone that’s laughed at me for what I’m trying to do. Anyone who’s talked some masa, for I can’t wait to prove you wrong.

And last but definitely not least I want to thank my wife Olga… thank you for your support and patience. I know this can be a little scary but I have faith that we will do great things together.

Para terminar, thank you all, even those of you who I didn’t thank by name… you know who you are. ¡Thank you! If you’ve mentioned #Maldicion, #MaldicionBrand on social media ¡Gracias! If you’ve talked to somebody about Maldición…¡Gracias! And for those of you who have voted on Maldición shirts, también ¡Mil Gracias!

Finally (this time for real) I’d like to thank YOU again for visiting this, the Maldición site “el ciber puesto.” My promise to you is that I will work hard to bring you inspired work. I hope you are enjoying my work so far… because there is a lot more to come, so stay tuned.

Humildemente,

– yo
